Lately, I've noticed my usually calm cat has been scratching the furniture a lot more than before. She never really did this when she was younger, but in the past few weeks, it's become a real problem. I’ve made sure she has scratching posts available, and I even put some catnip on them, but she seems to prefer the couch and the armchair instead. Does anyone know why cats suddenly start scratching more aggressively or change their behavior like this? Could it be related to stress, boredom, or something else like health issues? Also, any tips on how to redirect her scratching back to the posts would be really appreciated, as I’m worried about the damage to my furniture. Thanks in advance!
